There are so many things I like in this! The first and the most important is the fact you tell us a real story with your illustration: with elements such as the bloody hand prints, the gun, the wound on the character's belly, and her global expression, you tell a story and we can understand it in only one sight. The red light and the galaxy in the background increase the depth effect as the same time it tell. And I like the global color scheme, with the contrast between a vivid red in the middle and an environment of colored grays.
Now, in my opinion the weak part is the character's expression on her face, because I cannot decrypt it. Is she afraid, is she screaming of pain, is she laughing? Maybe the ambiguity has been done on purpose? In each case, I can't blame you too much, for it's awfully difficult to succeed that!
I agree, the face has been a tough one. I screaming in terror/sorrow expression i was going for turned out pretty complicated to capture. I'll have to come back to it.
